Individual Therapy
One on one counseling for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Work that goes beneath the symptoms to the beliefs holding them in place.
Change That Holds
Symptoms are rarely the whole story. Underneath depression, anxiety, and trauma there are usually core beliefs and schemas that formed for good reasons and stopped serving you a long time ago. My work centers on redesigning those maladaptive core beliefs, targeting the negative automatic thoughts they generate, and defusing and restructuring them so they lose their grip.
From there we build forward. Together we clarify a moral and ethical value system you can actually stand on, and we use it to move toward the life goals and aspirations that matter to you. The aim is not just fewer bad days. The aim is a self you can live with and a direction worth walking.
Sessions draw on CBT, ACT, EMDR, and existential approaches depending on what you are presenting with. The modality serves you, not the other way around.

Focused Where It Counts
Trauma that replays, intrudes, or keeps the body on alert long after the danger has passed. We stabilize first, then process at a pace you set.
The heaviness, numbness, and self criticism that drain a life of its color. We work on the beliefs feeding it and rebuild momentum in small, real steps.
Worry that will not shut off, tension that lives in the body, and avoidance that shrinks your world. We restructure the thoughts and retrain the patterns.
Not every wound has a diagnosis attached. Painful experiences leave marks on how you see yourself and others, and those marks can be reworked.
How Each Model Works
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT maps the link between what you think, what you feel, and what you do. I am Beck Institute trained, and in session we catch negative automatic thoughts in real time, test them against evidence, and restructure the deeper beliefs producing them. It is the workhorse for depression and anxiety, and it gives you skills you keep for life.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT builds psychological flexibility. Instead of fighting every difficult thought, you learn to defuse from them, hold them more lightly, and act on your values anyway. ACT is where much of the values work happens, clarifying what you stand for and pointing your behavior at it.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories that got stuck. You do not have to narrate every detail of what happened for it to work. For many clients with PTSD and trauma histories, EMDR moves material that years of talking could not.
Existential Therapy
Some struggles are not disorders. They are questions. Meaning, mortality, freedom, isolation, and what it costs to be a self. Existential work takes those questions seriously and helps you build an honest answer you can live inside. This is where philosophy earns its keep in the therapy room.
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God.
