Your Questions, Answered

Straight answers about how this practice works, what sessions cost, and what to expect.

Help. I am experiencing a mental health emergency.

Ground Force Therapy is not an emergency or crisis service.

If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately. Call or text 988, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Do you take insurance?

Ground Force Therapy does not currently bill insurance directly. Sessions are private pay, and payment is due before each appointment.

Upon request, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your out of network mental health benefits.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company may require when considering an out of network reimbursement claim.

You submit the superbill directly to your insurance provider. Depending on your plan, your insurer may reimburse you for a portion of the session fee. Ground Force Therapy cannot guarantee reimbursement or communicate with your insurance company on your behalf regarding claim approval.

Who do you work with?

Ground Force Therapy serves adults, couples, veterans, active duty service members, first responders, law enforcement professionals, and their partners and families.

How do I get started?

We are glad to help you. Click the Request an Appointment button anywhere on this website. You will be directed to a secure, HIPAA compliant client portal where you can provide your contact information and request an initial appointment.

After your request is received, we will contact you with next steps and available appointment options.

What should I expect in the first session?

Your first session is a 50 minute intake called a biopsychosocial assessment. It helps me form a clinical picture of what we will be treating and sets the goals we will work toward in our sessions together.

Can I attend sessions in person?

Ground Force Therapy currently provides services exclusively through secure telehealth appointments for clients located in Washington State.

We hope to expand into an in person office in the future. Any updates about in person availability will be shared on this website.

Where do I need to be located for telehealth?

Clients must be physically located in Washington State at the time of each session.

You are welcome to join from whatever private location makes you feel safe and comfortable.

What technology do I need for telehealth?

A private location, reliable internet, and a device with a camera and microphone.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in session is confidential and protected by law, with limited exceptions such as a court order or an immediate safety concern that the law requires me to act on. We will review confidentiality together in your first session so you know exactly where the lines are.

Do you prescribe medication?

Therapists do not prescribe medication. Coordination with your medical provider may be possible with your written permission.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice before your session. Sessions cancelled the day of must be rescheduled within the same week.
